What is the process of establishing a self-managed super fund?

Once you’ve let us know that you want to open an SMSF we’ll being setting up the fund. We’ll need signed documents from you in order to register with the ATO which we’ll send to you shortly after you apply with us. Once we’ve registered your fund with the ATO on your behalf, the ATO will apply a TFN and ABN to your fund.

How long until I can start depositing funds into my SMSF?

Once your SMSF has been established and you’ve received a TFN and ABN from the ATO, you’ll be able to start depositing into your fund, including the rollover from previous super balances and employer contributions.

How do I redirect employer contributions to my SMSF?

You’ll need a complete Superannuation Standard Choice Form and a document confirming the fund is recognised by the ATO. You can locate a copy of your fund’s status by searching your fund’s ABN in the Super Fund Lookup Service.

How often do I need to provide you with information?

If we’re managing your fund, you’ll need to let us know every time you set up a new investment, take out any insurance, or plan to distribute any of the fund’s assets.
